Hood College Description:

Founded as a women's college in 1893, Hood College today is a co-educational master's-level institution. The school occupies a 50-acre campus in Frederick, Maryland. Baltimore and Washington DC are each about an hour away. Hood students come from 26 states and 24 countries. The college offers 28 bachelor's degree programs and 14 master's programs. Business is the most popular undergraduate major, and Hood academics are supported by a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. In athletics, the Hood College Blazers compete in the NCAA Division III Capital Athletic Conference. The school fields 8 men's and 10 women's Division III teams.
